Marketing and branding strategy for Toledo and Corozal tourism corridors in Belize

The formulation of the marketing and branding strategy is the continuation of the development of tourism corridors for Corozal and Toledo districts in Belize. Carried out workshops with stakeholders in both districts to gain their insight and, as a result, their approval of the tourism brand for their respective corridors. Tianma Royal City Development becoming an arts, culture and senior tourism hub in the heart of Yantai Economic and Technological Economic Development Area (YEDA) will significantly contribute to an already vibrant and developing tourism sector in this district of Yantai.  Associates Euasia are planning the development of a site in Tianma Royal City to house the headquarters of the World Senior Tourism and Study Tour Congress, a 1,000 room 5 star hotel which will include revolving art exhibitions on a constant basis, an exposition centre where the 5 continents cultural centres will be located and other attractions and services to bring tourists. Preparing project proposals for donor funding

Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister’s Team on Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Affairs led the formulation of the Sri Lanka Strategic Plan 2017-2020. A copy is available here:

This plan prescribes a number of actions that should be completed over the four years. ITC-A has been commissioned to prepare project proposals for selected priority projects to be presented to donors for funding.

Tourism demand assessment for the Myiek Archipelago

IFC aims to assist the Government of Myanmar in building the overall rationale for targeted tourism development planned on the 800 islands off the coast southern Myanmar in the Andaman Sea. With this in mind, it has commissioned ITC-A to conduct a tourism demand assessment for the Myiek Archipelago in Tanintharyi.


The assignment will produce an assessment of current (‘state of play’) and projected (‘forward-look’) tourism demand for  for the destinations of Tanintharyi. It will provide a baseline for the structure and value of current tourism demand.

Given the current situation in Myanmar, this project is on hold.

Lionel Becherel and Mike Fabricius formulated the international tourism marketing strategy for 5 key markets for Shandong and visited Japan, South Korea, the UK, Germany and France to carry out interviews with major stakeholders in these countries. They were assisted by a local team in each country. Online surveys were also carried out with tour operators in each of these markets. The strategies were delivered and officially presented to stakeholders in Shandong during a two-day conference.

The ITC-A led a team composed of 10 international experts and 3 national experts formulated the 2016-2025 Shandong Tourism Development Master Plan Approval, which was officially given by the Governors of Shandong Province.  The project took over a year to complete from scoping mission to final official approval.

This major plan will improve Shandong’s tourism offer, showcasing it’s excellent resources, cultural heritage and traditions to both domestic and international visitors, creating employment for the province’s 100 million population as well as supporting the efforts of other sectors in contributing to Shandong’s economy. It will guide the official provincial development strategy, which links into Central Government’s national tourism strategy and will be implemented by the Shandong Government and the province’s tourism stakeholders over the next 10 years.
